Hourou Musuko

I haven't had time to blog because i just started my first year at school and now i'm in my 3rd week but i'm awfully stressed >.<Anyways, so a belated blog post is quite in order today (I'm abit more relaxed today so i'm taking as much advantage as i can of it)
Hourou Musuko is about Shuichi Nitori, a boy who wants to be a girl and Yoshino Takatsuki, a girl who wants to be a boy. They deal with the reaction of people (around them) to transexuality, questioning their gender all while balancing the beginning of puberty.
The content of the show was good, i loved watching how the characters struggles against people's perceptions of cross-dressing and transexuality and by doing that they slowly mature. The issues brought up in this anime are issues that i have come across but have never really given a second thought about and this makes me think (Yes, i like shows that make me think and questions the issues brought up)
I was very attracted to the series by it's art, there is a watercolour look to it. Not only does it look unique and beautiful but it also brings about a calm and a little surreal (the irony lol, since the topics are quite down-to-earth and serious topics)
This is a show i reccomend watching, definity not for those who like action and adventure, its a very tame and slow series that should be slowly savoured. So if you are looking for a break from the usual maindstream animes that make you think and follow the characters as they mature, this is for you!~
I hope i get to churn out another review soon, i really miss blogging XDDD
